The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the right to privacy, pursuant to Human Rights Council resolutions 28/16, send a letter to Prime Minister Abe Shinzo of Japan, bringing to his attention the information he has received concerning a proposed bill revising parts of the Act on Punishment of Organized Crimes and Control of Crime Proceeds, also known as the ‘anti-conspiracy’ bill which due to its broad scope may, if adopted into law, lead to undue restrictions to the rights to privacy and to freedom of expression.
The original letter can be found here(pdf).
