On Tuesday, 28th March 2017, The ISACA Malta Chapter and The Malta IT Law Association organised the Malta Cybercrime Conference 2017 – Cybercrime vs. Cybersecurity – Trends, Threats and Truths. The conference dealt with a number of salient issues related to cybercrime, with speeches dealing with the current local and international cybercrime trends, emerging threats that strain the reach of the law, risks posed to critical national infrastructures and the legislative response, the rise of identity theft and online fraud, big data and information security.

Prof. Joseph Cannataci presented the speech called “Success and failure at the intersection of cybercrime and privacy”, a meander through some of the risks to privacy present in the world of cybercrime and other threats present in cyberspace.
